1. How do you get a 2 year old to wear big boy underwear? We've gone to Target, he's picked them out himself, we have Buzz Lightyear and Thomas the Train underwear up the gazoo. He's not interested. So he's naked all day everday and doing a good job using his potty but we gotta get some underwear on this kid!
2. I want to take my Activity Day girls hiking? Where's a fun trail to hike?
3. At what age do you let your kid wipe their own butt? Supernanny says between 3 and 4. Is this right? Look I just don't want to be finding skidmarks in the underwear, ya know what I mean?
4. Is it genetically programmed in boys to pee outside? Or is this something the parents just let them do? I don't want my boys peeing outside, am I just fighting a losing battle?
Wooh, I feel better to have gotten these off my chest! Thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice!

You crack me up!! I am no help really. 1. Carter liked to be big and wear the big boy undies, and not have "baby diapers". He ran around nude at home just while training. Maybe he doesn't like to be all tight in there. Maybe get him boxers?? 2.Nicole, Ann and Sarah are the hikers. They will have to give you the tips on that one! I personally think the hill by the zoo is the easiest. Papago park I think it's called? 3. I was totally wondering this too! I am sooo not wanting skids or dealing with the itchy bummy. Can't wait to see everyone else's opinions! 4. yes it's programmed. Just let him do it. Life will be so much easier. :)
Sorry, but if you have boys, peeing outside and skidmarks go with the territory. Unless we are just gross disgusting people around here. That is funny he won't wear his underwear, it has to be more comfy than having everything "out there". Interesting. I guess you could just get hin dressed without underwear and he'll see how wierd it feels and want to wear them on his own.
I hate to confess that I still wipe Daytons behind. Wyatt does such a terrible job and I have to keep reteaching him, so I guess I am avoiding that whole scene with 2 of them by still doing it for him. Mark keeps telling me to make him do it, and I am starting to. He goes to kindergarten in a couple months for crying out loud. I even told him that once. "when you go to school your teacher cant' wipe your bottom so you need to start doing it, OK??" to which he just says..."OK". But then calls me in there again the next time. I guess thats how it goes with the baby of the family.
I think "hole in the rock" in papago park is good really easy hike. Seriously. all my kids do it, and its really cool to get up there and look out over the valley. You park where the zoo is, its about 2o minutes up there, Mabye less.
1. Peer Pressure. "Brody wears underwear. Don't you want to wear underwear?"
2. Uhh, no clue. I'm not a hiker. I know Nicole goes a lot.
3. Definitely not now. Ha ha! Ellie's 5 and I still wonder sometimes. Get the kid butt wipes.
4. Nate was actually scared to pee outside, but once he started he LOVED it. So yes, it's a losing battle
That is so funny! For the question on undies...he just has to decide he's ready. Brady even flushed his unders down the toilet once to prove that I couldn't make him wear them. So I am no help there. As for hiking...we love the trails on the south side of South Mountain (you go in off Pecos) or the San Tan is pretty close and is not too tough. I think either of those would be great for the girls. Should I come along and bring Chip? Ha Ha
On to wiping...I have the flushable wipes in the bathroom so that after the boys wipe with TP, they can follow up with the wipe just to make sure they got it all. EWWW! The things we have to discuss as mothers! I still have some skids, but I kind of think that just is part of having boys. And lastly, what is wrong with peeing outside? I LOVE that my boys can pee outside and they don't have issues with it. My favorite thing is whenever we are together with Sarah and she is frantically looking all around for a bathroom for Lizzie, I just take the boys to the backside of a tree or shrub and we are good to go! That made me sound a little like a red-neck! :-{
I'm not too much help on 1 and 2 but for three..Brody has always wiped his own butt and does a really good job but I always wipe Sadie's... and will be doing it for awhile I'm sure! As for four...I think it's totally ok to pee outside...I also grew up with a house full of boys!
Mack is looks so handsom in those B-ball pics! What a stud he is. Watch out for all those 15 year old girls!!
Someone gave me "flushable toddler wipes" for my shower and I had to ask what they were for, I am a total dork, I know. It makes sense to have your kid use them to aide in the whole butt wiping experience. Why not give them all the extra help without doing it for them and decrease the amount of skidmarks.
