Wow! What a couple of weeks! It started out with Brady & Bailey getting pink eye and really bad colds. Brady seemed to get over his cold without too many complications. Bailey on the other hand decided to spike a temp of 106 one evening that landed us in the ER for 7 hours. We know now that she had RSV. She had fevers and did not eat for 5 days straight and ended up having pneumonia on top of it all. Just when we thought Beau had escaped all the ugliness, he starts coughing on Saturday...not a bad cough...just a cough. I knew if "it" knocked Bailey off her feet that it was really going to do a number on Beau...but I had no idea. I worked on Monday and we decided that Scott would take Beau to the doctor to make sure he didn't have ear infections. It was then that I received a text at work from Scott that the doctor is sending Beau to the ER. It was at the ER that he was tested for and found to have RSV...he also had a 104 fever and a respiratory rate in the 60's with retractions...which meant a hospital admission. So on our way we went to Scottsdale
Healthcare Shea for just "overnight observation" I'm thinking. We were told RSV peaks on day 4 or 5...which ended up being Wednesday and Wednesday night when he REALLY got sick. Constant high fevers, respiratory rate 60-80, heart rate 160-180 and in clear respiratory distress. So scary!! It was the only time I cried. Finally the next evening after no improvement they decided to do another
xray...pneumonia. A double whammy! IV antibiotics were started that evening and he was already getting better by the morning. We had a little trouble getting him off his oxygen but finally on day 5, Friday, he was ready to go home and we were READY!!!

Bailey when she was not feeling well.

This was his worst day leading into a terrible night!

Starting to feel a little better.

And even better.

This is the chair I lived in for 5 days. There was a
padded bench to sleep on but it was cursed...every
time I lied on it Beau would wake up and cry!
Beaulicious!
We love you baby Beau and are so glad you're home where you belong! We couldn't stand the house without you here. Thank you Baba for taking 2 days off of work to watch the kids for us and thank you Jill for all that you did for our family during this whole process. It took such a burden off of us and let us concentrate on getting Beau better.
